Rights and licence

Your drawing stays yours. So does the model you got out of it.

Version of

What you upload

The rights to an uploaded image remain entirely yours. We acquire no rights to it beyond one technical permission: to process the file in order to compute the model — and only for the thirty minutes it lives on the server.

We do not publish your uploads, do not show them to anyone else and do not use them to train artificial-intelligence models.

The model you receive

We claim no rights whatsoever in the result — the 3MF and STL files computed from your image.

Print it, modify it, give it away, sell the prints and the file itself, use it commercially. No permission needed, no royalties, no credit required.

Models from the catalogue

Models we published in the catalogue ourselves are released under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence (CC BY 4.0).

That means: print, modify and share them — commercially too — as long as you credit the source: StudioMerch.ART.

Other people's rights are the uploader's problem

By uploading an image you confirm that you are entitled to use it.

Logos, characters, cover art, typefaces and other people's photographs are protected by copyright and trade-mark law even when an image search finds them in a second. Printing one on a shirt — let alone selling it — infringes those rights, and the person who uploaded it answers for that.

Notice from a rights holder

If your work ended up in our catalogue without permission, write to ceo@ptrs.ltd and include:

  • a link to the page carrying the material;
  • what establishes your rights;
  • how to reach you.

We take material down within five business days and settle contested cases by email.

The site and the mark

The texts, the design, the service's code, the StudioMerch.ART logo and the Peter's Engineering mark are ours. Copying the site's design or passing the logo off as your own is not allowed.

Linking to the service, taking screenshots and writing about it are welcome.

Open source underneath

The service is built on open-source libraries, each under its own licence: NumPy, Pillow, OpenCV, SciPy, Shapely, trimesh, mapbox-earcut, NetworkX, lxml, FastAPI, Uvicorn. Thanks to their authors.

Those licences cover the libraries themselves and place no restriction whatsoever on the models you get out.

File formats

3MF and STL are open formats. We impose no restriction on reading, editing or printing our files — and could not impose one if we wanted to.
